What are Instagram highlights?
Instagram highlights are collections of past stories that an account pins to its profile, just below the bio. Each highlight has a title and a round cover image. Unlike normal stories, which expire after 24 hours, highlights stay on the profile until the owner removes them.
Businesses use highlights as mini-websites — menus, price lists, FAQs, reviews, tutorials — while creators and individuals keep travel diaries, behind-the-scenes clips and favourite moments there.
What is an Instagram highlights downloader?
An Instagram highlights downloader saves the photos and videos inside a highlight to your device. Instagram offers no way to download someone else’s highlights, and screen-recording each story is slow and blurry.
With SaveNext you paste the highlight’s link, every item in it is listed, and each one gets its own Download button. Stories posted in the last 24 hours that aren’t in a highlight yet work too — just paste the story link. The Instagram story downloader page has story-specific tips.
How to copy an Instagram highlight link
- Open the profile in the Instagram app and tap the highlight you want.
- Tap the ⋯ (More) button or the share icon at the bottom of the screen.
- Choose Copy link. It usually looks like instagram.com/stories/highlights/… or instagram.com/s/….
On a computer, open the highlight on instagram.com and copy the address from your browser bar. Each highlight has its own link, so copy one link per highlight you want to save.
How to download Instagram highlights on iPhone
- Copy the highlight link in the Instagram app.
- Open SaveNext in Safari, tap Paste and then Search.
- Tap Download on each photo or video. Videos are saved in Files → Downloads; open one, tap share and choose Save Video to move it to Photos.
How to download Instagram highlights on Android
- Copy the highlight link in the Instagram app.
- Open SaveNext in Chrome, paste the link and tap Search.
- Tap Download on each item. Files land in your Downloads folder and appear in your gallery automatically.
How to download Instagram highlights on PC or Mac
Open the highlight on instagram.com, copy the URL from the address bar, paste it into SaveNext and click Search. Working on a big screen makes long highlights easy to go through — for example, saving a restaurant’s full menu or a creator’s complete travel series in one sitting.
Stories vs. highlights: what’s the difference?
They look the same, but they behave very differently:
| Stories | Highlights | |
|---|---|---|
| How long they last | 24 hours | Until the owner removes them |
| Where they appear | Top of the feed | On the profile, under the bio |
| Grouped with a title and cover | No | Yes |
| Link to paste into SaveNext | The story link | The highlight link |
Useful things to save from highlights
- Menus and price lists from restaurants, salons and small shops.
- Tutorials and how-tos that creators keep pinned for new followers.
- Event memories — weddings, trips and concerts saved by friends.
- Your own highlights — a quick way to back up years of stories.
Highlight not loading?
- The account is private — highlights of private accounts can’t be downloaded.
- It’s a different link — to get a highlight, paste the highlight’s own link. A post or profile link downloads that post or profile picture instead.
- Some items are missing — the owner may have removed them, or they were shared with Close Friends only.
- The highlight was deleted — if it no longer opens on Instagram, it can’t be fetched.
Want someone’s profile picture? Paste their profile link into the same box — the Instagram DP viewer page has the details.
Use highlights responsibly
Highlights are public, but they’re still someone’s personal content. Save them for your own reference, credit the owner if you share anything, and never use downloaded highlights to impersonate or harass anyone. Our Terms of Service explain acceptable use in more detail.
